How much does Data Dwell cost?
Data Dwell has four plans: Free ($0, forever), Starter ($89 per month), Pro ($165 per month) and Enterprise (custom). All prices are published on this page, and every paid plan includes unlimited users.
Does Data Dwell charge per user?
No. Starter, Pro and Enterprise all include unlimited users. Your price depends on storage, downloads and portals, so adding your whole team, agencies and partners doesn't raise your bill.
What determines which plan I need?
Three things: how much storage you need (3 GB, 250 GB, 500 GB or unlimited), how many downloads you expect per month (100, 500, 1,000 or unlimited), and how many portals you share externally (5, 10 or unlimited). Starter and Pro include the same features. Enterprise adds showcases, video captions and transcription, IPTC and EXIF mapping, and custom terms and SLA.
Is there a discount for paying annually?
Yes. Annual billing saves 7–10% compared with monthly, depending on the plan, and every annual plan includes free migration from your current system.

Is there a free version of Data Dwell?
Yes. The Data Dwell free plan is free forever, not a trial. It includes 3 users, 3 GB of storage, 5 portals and 100 downloads per month, with AI search, versioning and role-based access control.
Do I need a credit card to start?
No. You can sign up and use the free plan without a credit card, a sales call or a demo.
What happens when I outgrow the free plan?
Upgrade to Starter or Pro at any time. Your assets, folders, metadata and portals stay exactly as they are.
Limits and usage
What counts as a download?
Each file downloaded from the library or a portal counts as one download. Viewing or previewing a file does not.
What happens if I reach my storage or download limit?
On Pro you can add storage at $2 per 10 GB and downloads at $50 per 1,000. On Free and Starter, downloads pause until your allowance resets the next month. Enterprise plans have no limits.
Do download allowances reset each month?
Yes. Download allowances reset every 30 days, and unused downloads do not roll over.

Can you migrate our files from our current DAM or shared drive?
Yes. Migration is currently free on any paid annual plan and always included in Enterprise, handled by our team.
What support is included?
The free plan includes our support pages. Starter and Pro include email and chat support. Enterprise includes a dedicated account manager. Data Dwell won G2's Best Support award in 2026.
Where is my data hosted?
Data Dwell is hosted on AWS in Ireland for EU customers and in Ohio for US customers. On the Enterprise plan, you can choose your data residency.
